Become a Corporate Sponsor

For many years, the Fuel Fund of Maryland has relied mainly on the generosity of thousands of dedicated individual donors to support its work. With the energy prices escalating with every passing year, the Fuel Fund believes it has reached a second energy crisis.

The Fuel Fund expects the number of people seeking assistance to increase dramatically. We follow the eligibility requirements outlined by the Maryland Energy Assistance Plan, or MEAP. MEAP recently announced an expansion of the eligibility for energy assistance from 150 to 200 percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines. This will make, in turn, a total of 190,000 Central Marylanders eligible for Fuel Fund assistance. Staggering increases in energy costs will have many people turning to the Fuel Fund for the first time.

During our last fiscal year, we laid the groundwork for our first corporate fundraising campaign. Our goal is to considerably increase corporate donations in the 2006-2007 fiscal year. Business people know that an investment in keeping families together in their homes results in thriving, safe neighborhoods. Stable communities are a key to a healthy business environment.
