Resources - Watt Watchers of Maryland™
Watt Watchers of Maryland™ is an energy conservation and financial education initiative started by the Fuel Fund in 2007 with the help of a grant from Citi.
Its objectives include:
- learning how to read, understand and lower your utility bill.
- understanding why your bill can differ greatly from your neighbors'.
- learning how to make energy efficiency efforts a family project.
- beginning to understand how to manage your finances by creating goals and starting a budget.
Volunteers are needed to serve as instructors for groups of adult students enrolled in classes. Watt Watchers of Maryland™ typically requires a weekly commitment of approximately 2 hours for a 5-week period, but we will work around scheduling conflicts with any interested parties. All volunteers will receive training from the Fuel Fund prior to leading classes.
