This Privacy Policy discloses how the Fuel Fund of Maryland (FFM) collects, uses, and shares consumer information, including through our website located at www.fuelfundmaryland.org, through offline donations, and donations from third party applications. The Privacy Policy does not apply to information that we collect related to employees, contractors, vendors or other entities with which we do business.

A.    HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

1.  Personal Information

“Personal Information” may include information such as your name, postal address, email, telephone number, and credit card information.  If a person donates to us, we may collect additional Personal Information such as the donor’s credit card number, card type, and expiration date, and we may keep a record of the financial transaction.  We may also collect limited Personal Information from third parties that refer you to receive information about our programs or offerings, or provide your contact information to us for fundraising purposes. 

2.  Non-Personal Information

We may also collect “Non-Personal Information” automatically when you use our website.  Non-Personal Information may include, among other things, the time and date of your visit, your browser type and version, your IP address, and the pages you viewed on www.fuelfundmaryland.org.  Both FFM and third-party service providers may collect Non-Personal Information through various technologies, such as cookies, eTags, web beacons, or log files.  Your Web browser may offer tools to stop or restrict cookies on your computer or purge them from your browser.  Note that if you “turn off,” purge, or disable cookies, although you may still use our website, you may not be able to use all of the features, functions, or services available on our website.  We may also collect aggregated information from our website and other sources, which is used for research and other purposes.

B.     HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use both Personal Information and Non-Personal Information that we collect or obtain about you to provide and improve our services and to operate our organization.  For example, we may use information to:

·    Conduct fundraising and research; or,

·    Operate and administer our websites and services, analyze how our website is used, ensure compliance with our Terms of Use, and improve our website and program offerings.

C.    HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell or trade our donors’ names or personal information to other entities.

We may disclose Personal Information for the following purposes:

·    As necessary for a third party to provide certain operational services to us or on our behalf, in which case we will disclose Personal Information to such service providers on a “need to know” basis under a written contract; or,

·    In a merger, acquisition, change of control, partial or total sale or transfer of assets including in a bankruptcy proceeding, joint venture, or other change to our organization.

We provide you with an opportunity to opt-out of such sharing.  To exercise this opt-out choice, please see the instructions below.  If you do not opt-out, you are deemed to have given us your permission to share your information in this way. We may share non-personal information, including aggregate or de-identified information, at our discretion.

D.    SECURITY

FFM takes reasonable and appropriate measures to keep Personal Information confidential and in a secure environment, including taking appropriate action in the event of unauthorized disclosure.  Access to Personal Information is restricted to those FFM personnel with a legitimate business purpose.

E.  CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify, add or delete provisions of this Privacy Policy at any time.  We will post the effective date of any change at the top of this Privacy Policy.  We urge you to come back to this digital page and review this Privacy Policy regularly so that you remain aware of any changes. 

F.  LINKS TO OTHER SITES

This website contains links to websites offered by third parties.  Even if we have a relationship with a third party you may encounter or see on our website, the advertising, links or references to third parties or any of their websites, including any cookies or other technology they may use, are not under our control.

G.  UPDATING YOUR INFORMATION OR OPTING OUT
